I don’t want to go back to “normal”!

Currently the United States of America is slowly “reopening”. It will look different from state to state based on a number of factors beyond the scope of a single blog post. Some are saying we are in a new “normal” while others are saying “I don’t want to go back to normal”. Personally that is the camp I am in.

“Normal” was neighbors not talking to neighbors. People being too self-focused to recognize others are struggling. “Normal” was going to work day after day without purpose or drive. “Normal” was churches focused on filling seats more than reaching a lost world. “Normal” is predictable, boring, and meaningless. I want so much more!

I want reasons to go to work beyond a paycheck. I want church service led by the Holy Spirit and not by a prescribed orders of service. I want my week filled with praising God and serving Him so that Sunday is a time of celebrating God’s goodness with fellow believers.

Normal doesn’t allow room for greater things. Instead it confines us to a prison of dull, pointless, unfulfilling existence. I do not want to go back to “normal”!
