A week gone to the dogs

It is now Wednesday and what a week!

Right after publishing the last post I walked into the kitchen to discover that Chazzie, (AKA Old dog, Chazzoid, Spazzy Chazzie, or Roid), had “emptied her stomach contents” on the floor. It took the better part of a roll of paper towels to clean the mess. But at least it wasn’t on the new carpet. That is until Tuesday morning when she repeated the process on the new carpet… To say the least it was an unpleasant experience for my wife as I was at work at the time. However, when I told a couple of co-workers they got a good laugh out of it. Gotta have friends that will laugh at your calamities.

It would be unfair to blame the dog, after all she’s just a dog. So I began thinking about the history of owning this particular animal. It all began years ago when a co-worker asked if we would want a dog. He had a relative that needed to get rid of a high energy chocolate Lab so we adopted Chazzie. All that to say it is my friends fault that the dog rouched on the new carpet! Believe me I called to let him know as well!

Well today is Wednesday and the dogs aren’t done with me yet. The normal 4:30 AM wake up time usually means one or both dogs will go outside for a few minutes. This time Oceana, (AKA Oshie, The Cuteness, Spoiled dog), took herself for a stroll. That resulted in me searching through neighboring properties like some creepy stalker at 5:00 AM. Not able to find her I went to work quite concerned. Oceana is a bit of an idiot around moving vehicles so of course I imagined the worst. Fortunately she came home shortly after I arrived at work.

Despite my best efforts Oceana will not tell me where she went this morning. Instead she insists I need to spend time outside playing with her. It makes sense if you think about it. After all she did kick start my prayer life this morning.

The rest of the world can be concerned about the Coronavirus, political circus, or whatever other catastrophe is waiting to doom us all. I’m too busy surviving a week gone to the dogs…
