A mandate of eternal consequence

I recently posted the following on Facebook using a public setting. While it would be a simple matter to add scripture to validate my position, this issue transcends politics, religion, and freedom of speech. One thing that should be noted is the Obama mandate on transgender bathrooms will be hotly debated state to state. Illinois is the state I live in and state leaders have made it clear it will embrace the mandate.

Illinois schools are being mandated to allow transgender students to use the bathrooms of their choice. What happens to the choice of the students that do not want a girl in the boys room and vice versa? What really chaps my hide is the silence from those who oppose this disgrace but are too afraid of the “backlash” from whoever is financing them. This includes state leaders as well as church leaders. You cannot compare the decision to believe a person can choose their gender with civil rights! This is not about race or equal treatment of others, this is perversion and sin manifesting itself more publicly! The only civil rights being violated are against those who believe man was made in the image of God. By vocalizing my opposition to this movement by the LGBT community I might lose a few friends. By not standing for truth I will have to answer to God some day for doing nothing. What choice do you make?

There is no easy out for Christians to bury our heads in the sand and ignore this issue. It is not a matter of submission to authority, rather, it is a matter of truth, values, and morality.
